Maestro

Is Maestro a replacement for Resolute?

No. Maestro is a companion to Resolute, not a replacement. Maestro is the more responsive of the two, so it adds yield as conditions improve, while Resolute holds up better when the season finishes dry. Planting both spreads maturity and seasonal risk across your program.

Does Maestro perform well in all conditions?

Maestro delivers across a range of conditions, and it pulls further ahead of Resolute the better the country gets. It is level with Resolute at 4 to 6 t/ha, the edge builds from 7 t/ha, and it separates clearly above 9 t/ha. It is a variety for a grower's best paddocks, planted alongside Resolute rather than instead of it.

When is Resolute the better fit?

Where a marginal or unreliable finish is the bigger risk, for a late plant, and in tougher dryland country. Maestro carries more tillers, which make it responsive to a good finish and a little more exposed to a poor one: on a dry finish they can lift screenings, and lodging risk is slightly higher, particularly on a half profile.
